Cinema Business Awards
The annual Cinema Business Awards recognise excellence in the film distribution and theatrical presentation sectors. Launched in 2007, the awards are unique in that they invite exhibitors to nominate their partners in distribution and vice versa. There are specific categories for exhibitor of the year, distributor of the year, movie poster of the year and a career award.
The Friese-Greene Award
This award is presented to a person with an outstanding career in cinema.
Oscar Deutsch Award for the Exhibitor of the Year
Named for the founder of Odeon, this award recognises excellence in cinema operation.
Bromhead Award for Distributor of the Year
Named for a founder of the Rank film organisation, this award recognises excellence in film distribution.
Movie Poster of the Year
This award is presented to the film poster Cinema Business readers voted the best of the year.

The shortlisted exhibitors are:Cineworld Cinemas
Cineworld was nominated for its leadership in developing the Bollywood market, innovation in programming, supporting specialised and classic films, as well as creativity in marketing.
Vue Entertainment
Vue was nominated for innovation in auditorium and seating design, extensive experimentation with alternative content formats and the launch of 18-plus screenings.
National Amusements
National Amusements was nominated for its work developing and opening Cinemas de Lux as a new generation of multiplex.
Bromhead Award for Distributor of the Year
The shortlisted distributors are:Momentum Pictures
Momentum was nominated for its expertise in promoting specialised pictures in a way which delivered exceptional box office results.
Universal Pictures
Universal was nominated for the consistency of its marketing and its handling of Mamma Mia!, which enabled many cinemas to experience a far better year than would otherwise have been expected.
Pathé Distribution
Pathé was nominated for the straightforward way it has dealt with exhibitors delivering solid box office results and for the excellent service they have provided.
